Funeral services for Mrs. Marvin Ryden, were held Friday afternoon, December 29, 1978 at the Christian Church in Rifle. Rev. Thomas E. Steele officiated. Burial was in the Rifle Moose Cemetery.
Anna Helen Ryden was born in Pueblo, the daughter of Frank Elmer and Martha Susie Lester Wells, on June 27, 1900. With her parents, she moved to western Colorado and Eagle County in 1903, where the family lived on Brush Creek for several years. In 1910 they moved to Edwards. She received her elementary education at Eagle and Edwards and attended Eagle County High School in Gypsum. Mrs. Ryden was united in marriage with Marvin Delbert Ryden on August 4, 1919, at Eagle. The lived at Gypsum until March of 1920 when they moved to New Castle community where they lived on Main Elk Creek.
Mrs. Ryden died on December 24, 1978, in Grand Junction.
She is preceded in death by a son Delbert in December of 1939 and by two brothers, Guy and Robert Wells. Survivors include her husband Marvin; a daughter, Lovena M. Michelsen, and a son C. Franklin Ryden all of Rifle.
