Alfred Mead Swann, 70, a resident of Olathe for 30 years, died Friday at his home. Swann owned and operated the Olathe Hardware store. He was the manager of the Independent Lumber stores in Eagle and Delta prior to moving to Olathe.

Swann was bron on Feb 7, 1904 in Fort Scott, Kansas, came to Paonia with his parents, graduated from Paonia High and attended Western State College. On June 21, 1929, he married Galva Wing in Grand Junction. She survives. In addition to his wife, surviving are a son Dr. Gordon Swann of Flagstaff, Ariz., three sisters, one of which is Mrs. Ethel Chambers of Eagle. Services held in Olathe.
