Bernice Grammer was born in Palmer, NE to Clara Ellen Samuelson
and William Henry Starkey on October 3, 1919. She was the
oldest of six girls and one boy born to the Starkey's. Bernice had
survived all of them but the youngest sister, Eileen Rowe of St. Paul,

On March 18, 1939, Bernice married Charles Grammer of Nebraska,
and of this union nine children were born.
The Grammers moved to Denver, CO from Nebraska in 1940 and
lived there until 1953. They moved to Steamboat Springs, CO and
lived there most of the time, with the exception of a few years during
the 60's, when they lived in Vernal, UT. They retired to Grand
Junction. Mr. Grammer passed away on March 13, 1982 and was
buried in the Palisade Cemetery, where Mrs. Grammer will also be
laid to rest.
