Elifar Serrano, 86, Fruita,
died Feb. 5, 2012, at Hospice
Care Center.
A rosary will be recited at
7:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph’s
Catholic Church. Services
will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at
the church.
Survivors include four sons,
Ronnie Victor of Fruita and
Jimmie, Lee and Eddie, all of
Grand Junction; four daughters,
Priscilla Trujillo, Lorraine
Crespin and Elma Olero, all
of Fruita, and Lucy Sorrano-
Aragon of Grand Junction; two
brothers, Lorenzo of Grand
Junction and Don of Fruita; 24
grandchildren; and 36 greatgrandchildren.

Elifar “Lee” Serrano passed
away on February 5, 2012, at
Hospice Care Center.
Lee was born in Coyote, NM to
Placido and Georgiana Serrano.
In 1937, he moved to Colorado.
In 1945, he married Edumenia
Trujillo, from that union were
born nine children. They later divorced.
In 1975 Elifar married
Eva Padilla, he was step-father to Eva’s four daughters. He was a
sheep herder, miner and later became a barber, retiring at the age of
82 from Mesa Barber Shop.
Lee’s passion was playing the guitar and violin. He was famous for
his sourdough biscuits.
Lee is survived by four sons, Jimmie (Stella); Lee, and Eddie Serrano
of Grand Junction, and Ronnie Victor (Dorothy) Serrano of
Fruita; four daughters, Priscilla Trujillo; Lorraine (Paul) Crespin;
Elma (Ralph) Otero of Fruita, and Lucy (David) Aragon of Grand
Junction; three step-daughters, Carmel Valdez, and Patsy Rojas both
of Fruita, and Sally Alire of Grand Junction; two brothers, Lorenzo
Serrano of Grand Junction, and Don Serrano of Fruita; 25 grandchildren,
and 34 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by infant son, Victor Ronnie; three sisters,
Regina Romero, Ellen Chacon, and Teresa Medina; two brothers,
Isidoro Serrano, and Armando Serrano; grandson, Cisco Serrano;
son-in-law, Harry Trujillo, and step-daughter, Effie Silva.
A Rosary will be held Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at
St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Grand Junction, CO. Funeral services
will be held Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St.
Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial services will follow at Elmwood
Cemetery in Fruita, CO. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Western Colorado,
3090B North 12th Street, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
