Diana Mae Kimble was born on
March 8, 1932, in Anderson, Indiana
to Dr. Fred Albert and Alice
Leota (Wilson) Kimble. She
graduated from Holy Cross Central
then St. Mary's College in
Notre Dame, Indiana with a degree
in Nursing. Diana worked in
various fields of nursing throughout
her 37 year career; 20 of
which were spent at St. Mary's
Surgery here in Grand Junction
where she retired.
Diana married the love of her
life, Robert LeRoy Jones, on October
8, 1954. There were blessed
with three sons, Steve Conrad
Jones, David Robert Jones, and
Michael Paul Jones.
Diana was a member of the
Colorado Nurses Association,
Western Museum of Colorado,
Gemology Association, Daughters
of the American Revolution, she volunteered for the Grand
Junction Veterans Hospital, and was a member of the V.A.V.S. In
her earlier years she enjoyed fishing, boating, rock hunting, hunting,
Indian artifacts, and seeing various rock foundations with her husband
and sons at her side. Although not a native of Colorado Diana
lived here for 45 years and always marveled at the Colorado country
and beautiful sunsets. In her later years, Diana was an avid traveler,
she enjoyed cruises and tours. She had been to Australia,
Mexico, Northern and Southern Europe, a cruise around South
America, Alaska, Hawaii, Turkey, Greece, and Morocco. She enjoyed
reading, walking, gemology, crocheting, and knitting. She
gave many of her doilies and afghans to her family and friends.
Diana loved her family and always put them first and foremost in
her life.
Diana is survived by her sons, Steve, David, and Michael Jones;
two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in
death by her loving husband, Robert Jones; her parents, and her sister,
Marilyn.
A funeral service will take place on Monday, April 30, 2012, at
2:00 p.m. at Callahan-Edfast Mortuary, with burial following in Orchard
Mesa Cemetery.

Diana Mae Jones, 80, Grand Junction, died
April 24, 2012, at Hospice Care Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Callahan-
Edfast Mortuary. Burial will follow at Orchard
Mesa Cemetery.
Ms. Jones was a registered nurse.
Survivors include three sons, Steve, David and
Michael; one sister, Betty Darlene Kimble; two
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
