Death of C. Wilkinson

Young Man of Sterling Qualities Passes Away After Brief Illness.

After suffering a little over a week from scarlet fever, Clarence Wilkinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. George S. Wilkinson, passed away very suddenly last Saturday afternoon, February 16th, at their home on Brush creek. The direct cause of death was heart failure which was a result of the fever which he had been confined with. In the morning Clarence was feeling unusually well and thinking that it could do no harm he was permitted to get up and dress. A short time afterwards he was attacked with sharp pains around the heart and soon expired.

Clarence was born and has lived all of his life in this neighborhood. Being a bright young man of more than ordinary qualities he won the friendship of all who knew him by his manly ways and jovial disposition. The deceased would have been 18-years-old his next birthday.

On account of the nature of the disease to which Clarence succumbed, regular funeral services were not conducted, and at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon the remains were moved from the home, interment being in the Eagle cemetery. Although it was forbidden by Dr. Greene, quite a large procession followed the remains to the last resting place.

The Enterprise joins the host of friends in this valley in extending heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved parents.
