Lynn Porter Walker was born in Elvado, N. Mex. on December 25, 1960 while at work in Gilman.

On July 29, 1934 he was united in marriage to Olive L. Price. To this union were born two children, Byron George, now serving with the Armed Forces in Germany and Glenda Lynn, a senior student nurse at S. Luke's Hospital in Denver.

He was preceded in death by his father and four infant brothers.

Mr. Walker is survived besides his wife and two children, by his mother and stepfather, Mrs. Chas Hartman and Mr. Hartman of Lakewood; three sisters and one brother; Mrs. Josephine Harmon and Mrs. Hazel Deschane of Denver; Mrs. Ethel Anderson of Dalton, Neb., and Clarence Walker of Denver.

He was a member of AF & AM Lodge No. 43, and a Past Master of that lodge; a member of Battle Mountain Chapter of Eastern Star Lodge No. 120. He served 12 years on the City Council of Minturn, and nine years as mayor. For many years he was a member of the Minturn Volunteer Fire Department. In a few months, he would have completed 20 years in the employ of the Empire Zinc Co. at Gilman.

Terrie Lynn Walker, of Hayden, died unexpectedly on Jan. 12, 2009, at her home. She was 51.
Terrie was born July 17, 1957, in Grand Junction, to Wilbur and Marguerite (Hayes) Velasquez. She was raised in Grand Junction and Hayden, and she graduated from high school in California.
Terrie married Roger K. Walker on Sept. 5, 1981, in Hayden, and they became the parents of two children, Kimberly and Robert. The family made their home in Hayden, and Terrie worked as a clerk at the Steamboat Springs City Market.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge in Hayden, and her main interests were her kids and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Roger, of Hayden; daughter, Kimberly, and son, Robert, both of Hayden; sister Donna Gregory, of Aberdeen, Wash.; brothers Robert Hayes and his wife, Jean, of Hayden; Gary Velasquez and his wife, Linda, of Longmont; and Tommy Velasquez, of Craig.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Barbara Steele and Sheila Joanne Whiteside; and brothers Monty, Vernon and Howard Velasquez.
Funeral services were held Jan. 17 at the Hayden Congregational Church, with Doug Zirkle officiating. Special selections were "Momma," by Bob Seger, "If You're Gone," by Matchbox Twenty, "Loving Her Was Easier," by Kris Kristofferson and "Bright Side of the Road," by Van Morrison. Pallbearers were Hayden Dunn, Dee Allred, Tom Velasquez, Monty Velasquez, Bobby Robinson and Colton Whiteside. Interment followed in the Hayden Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in care of Grant Mortuary.
