An old resident of the county, died at Minturn on Oct. 27. Mr.Woods, a number of weeks before his death, had been up on Beaver Creek, where he was attacked by a large nest of yellow-jackets. In endeavoring to fight off the pests he used his hat; which exposed his head to their stings. He was stung a number of times on the head, but did not consider the injuries serious.
Later, however, he became ill and went to Minturn and placed himself under the care of Dr. WARREN, but did not inform the doctor of the stinging. Later, Dr. GREENE, of Eagle, was called, but the man, Woods, gradually sank and died a week ago Tuesday. He had not been in rugged health for some time, but the immediate cause of death was blood poisoning resulting from the bee stings.
Deceased was 49 [sic.] years of age and leaves a widow. Interment was at Edwards cemetery.
