Alice J. Balvanz, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Plainfield, Iowa, died Feb. 15, 2009, at the Bartels Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly.
Among survivors are her son Elmer Balvanz and his wife, Deb, of Steamboat Springs.
A funeral was held Feb. 19, 2009, at the Plainfield Methodist Church in Plainfield, with burial in the Willow Lawn Cemetery, also in Plainfield. Visitation was held Wednesday at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home in Waverly and Thursday at the church before services.
