Former Steamboat Springs resident Marjorie Louise Stieduhar died Sept. 9, 2008, in Greeley. She was 81.
Marjorie was born June 30, 1927, in Buena Vista, to Edith Thelma (Dunlap) and Earl Euclid Paquette. On July 25, 1948, she married George E. Stieduhar in Steamboat Springs. They lived in Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, Idaho and Nebraska. They owned and operated Ben Franklin stores in Kimball, Neb.; Monte Vista and Craig; and Wheatland, Wyo.
Marjorie was a homemaker and also later worked in the Kimball, Neb., store. After losing her husband on Aug. 15, 1995, she sold the stores and was instrumental in bringing Duckwall's to Kimball, Neb.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kimball, Neb., and loved to paint and make shirts.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her son, Gary Stieduhar, and his wife, Dee, of Alamosa; daughters Georgine Brinkman, of Greeley, and Robyn O'Brien, and her husband Tim, of Steamboat Springs; sister, Earline Shinn, and her husband, Glenn, of Colorado Springs; grandchildren Michelle and James Nagler, and Ronna Brinkman, all of Greeley; Shea and Connor O'Brien, of Steamboat Springs; and Ethyn and Clerissa Salazar, of Alamosa; and great-grandchildren Michaela, Elizabeth and James Nagler III, all of Greeley.
Services were held Sept. 12 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, in Kimball, Neb. Interment followed Sept. 13 at the Oak Creek Cemetery.
