Longtime Hayden resident Kerry Cobb died March 5, 2007, at the home of his daughter in Craig following a lengthy illness. He was 71.
He was born June 28, 1935, in Hayden to Luther and Rose (Cawfield) Cobb. He was raised and attended school in Hayden.
Kerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps and returned to his hometown. He has been a lifelong resident. He was married to Mary Isabelle Rolando and they became parents of a daughter. They were later divorced and he married Belva Ellifritz.
Kerry enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America and had served as its president. He also was a member of the Lions Club and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4265 in Craig.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Belva.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Corson, of Craig, and two grandchildren, Nick Raschke and Austin Corson.
Memorial services were held March 10, 2007, at the Routt County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Hayden. Interment of his remains followed at the Hayden Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a memorial fund in his name in care of Grant Mortuary, 621 Yampa Ave., Craig, CO 81625.
