[The following undated, unidentified obituary is likely from the Eagle County Times.)

CROSSED THE RANGE

William Webb of Minturn died this week and died suddenly. After a long and useful life he crossed the range unexpectedly, for he was strong to the last and was not "down and out", altho [sic] for the past year he has been under the instructions of the best physicians of the state. There is no word to say about "Bill" Webb but the best. He was one of the best and most popular citizens of the county. But the editor of The Times has a further tribute to offer. Twenty two years ago Bill Webb and Bill McCabe spent a year underground, partners. In all the intervening years our friend has never had a shadow of reflection on his life, and has always stood high in the community for his fair dealing.

The funeral which was in charge of Mortician Graham took place in this city Thursday under the auspices of the Eagle and Woodmen lodges. A special train conveyed friends from Minturn to the funeral, and the local friends swelled the cortege to one of the largest attended funerals seen here in years.

Well, Bill, you're underground again and for keeps this time; but we must all reach the same bonrue. Good bye till we meet again.
