JACK WELLINGTON DIES OF HEART ATTACK

Jack Wellington, long time resident of Eagle county, died suddenly last Wednesday of a heart attack in Salida, where he had gone for medical attention.

He had been in failing health for the past year and was on his way from Denver to Edwards when he stopped off in Salida to consult a doctor. He was stricken on his way to a doctor's office and was rushed by friends to the Salida hospital, where he died before he could be assigned a room.

In 1924 he was married to Miss Clara McDaniel of Rifle, who was killed in an automobile accident in Grand Junction in March, 1932. To this union were born three children, Esther, John and Jack.

Surviving are his children, Mrs. Esther High, Grand Junction; and the two boys who are serving with the armed forces in Korea; two brothers, B.A. Wellington, Denver; W.L. Wellington, Salida; four sisters, Mrs. Huloah Triest, Grand Junction; Mrs. Lucia Spaulding, Florence; Mrs. Edna Correll, San Francisco and Mrs. Esther Klatt, Edwards.

Burial services were held Sunday October 14 in the Edwards schoolhouse by the Rev. Delbert Paulson, who also sang, "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "At the end of a Perfect Day."

Interment was in the Edwards cemetery. Pallbearers were Henry Bettison of Fairplay; Owen Yenne of Denver; Danny Koprivnikar, James Brett, F.H. Reynolds, and Jeff Taylor all of Edwards..
