Lois Lorena Kelley-Bennett
July 14, 1926 – March 29, 2013
Lois Lorena Kelley-Bennett was born on July 14, 1926, at the family home in Olathe, Colorado. She spent her childhood on the familyranch with her parents and three sisters until the ninth grade when the family moved to Gault, California.
She met Richard “Dick” Bennett in Gault, and after a short
courtship they were married on September 10, 1943. They had a son, Lenard Wayne Bennett, and a daughter, Beverly Kay Bennett.
In the mid 1980’s they bought the Bennett Family Estate and
returned to Grand Junction, Colorado. When her husband of 56 years passed, she and her little dog, Benji relocated to Minden, NV to be close to her daughter and son-in-law, grandchildren, and her remaining sister.
Lois passed peacefully on a beautiful Nevada afternoon, while surroundedby those she loved and who loved her. She was preceded indeath by her husband, Richard Bennett; parents, William O. and Era Harrison-Kelley; sisters, Pearl (Walter) Lampshire, and Gertrude(Breese) Franks. She leaves behind her sister, Marilee (Bob) Ritz-Denton; son, Lenard W. (Alissa) Bennett; daughter, Beverly K. (Rodger) Lucas; grandchildren, Donald (Candie) Davis; Shaylene (Mike) King; Danine Frankovich; Lenard (Rusty) Bennett-McLeod; Jaden Bennett; Orlando Bennett, and Indigo Bennett; nine great-grandchildren, and many, many friends.
Please join us for her graveside service on Friday, October 4, 2013, at the Palisade Municipal Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow at the LaQuinta Inn, 570 Raptor Road, Fruita, Colorado.
