Death of Margaret Katherine Luby.
Margaret C. [?] DUNBAR was born in Elmsdale, Nova Scotia, February 3, 1866, and died in Denver, Colo., Friday, January 8, 1937, at the age of 70 years, 11 months, and 5 days.
At an early age the deceased immigrated to the United States and settled at Leadville, Colo., where, on January 6, 1889, she was united in marriage to Hugh W. LUBY. In 1895 the family moved to Minturn, Eagle County, Colorado, and there Mrs. LUBY made her home continuously until the death of her husband, which occurred March 1, 1935. Since that time, she had made her home with her son, Gene K. LUBY, in Denver.
Five chldren were born to Mr. and Mrs. LUBY--Earl and Corrine, both of whom died in infancy; William H. of Eagle Colo.; Jacqueline, who passed away May 7, 1934; Gene K., living in Denver, Colo.
Mrs. LUBY was a devoted wife and mother, and her life was spent in making a pleasant home for her family. She was a good neighbor and true friend, and old acquaintances in Minturn will always remember her for kind deeds and cherish the memory of a most beloved lady.
While not in robust health for the past few years, her final illness was short. She was stricken with pneumonia three days before her death and taken to the Presbyterian hospital in Denver, where the end came swiftly.
Both Judge LUBY and his brother, Gene, sole survivors of the family, have the sincere sympathy of all of Eagle county in their loss. Within a short span of time, death has taken those most dear to them--their only sister, father and mother.
Funeral services were held in Leadville Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian church, Rev. TEXTOR officiating and the body interred in Evergreen cemetery there, where three of her children and husband lie buried.
At the church services Mrs. C. C. PHILLIPS and Mrs. F. E. BROWN, with Mrs. Ted LANE at the piano, snag "No Night There" and "Life's Sunset."
Pall bearers were J. D. ALLEN, H. K. BROOKS, Thos. McBREEN, J. A. MACK, Chris HICK and Ora TIPTON.
The funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends from Leadville, Eagle, Minturn ndn Salida, where the LUBY family has been well known for many years.
