MRS. PHILLIPS BURIED IN GLENWOOD SPRINGS.
Matilda A. WEDOW was born in Denver, Colorado Oct. 31, 1894 to Bridget Foy and John WEDOW.
A graduate of East Denver High School, Miss WEDOW entered the teaching profession immediately out of high school. By attending summer school at Colorado State College of Education at Greeley and the University of Wyoming at Laramie, she earned a life teaching certificate.
Miss WEDOW came to Gypsum in the fall of 1922 to teach and on June 11, 1923 was married to Robert B. PHILLIPS of Gypsum at a ceremony performed in Casper, Wyo.
Mrs. PHILLIPS was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Eagle, a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Past Presidents Parley of the Auxiliary.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, Robert B. PHILLIPS and two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth CONLOGUE of Glendo, Wyo. and Mrs. Ellen HOMMINGA, of Littleton.
Rosary was held in St. Mary's Church in Eagle May 15 and Requiem Mass was said at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Glenwood Springs May 16 by Father Joseph J. LEBERER.
Burial was in Rosebud Cemetery, Glenwood Springs, and funeral arrangements were directed by Bowman Mortuary of Eagle. Pallbearers were Herman ERICKSON, Oscar ANDERSON, Chas. HEMBERGER, Wm. H. LUBY, J. D. ALLEN and James WILSON.
