John A. Ybarra, 77, Grand Junction, died May 29, 2015, in Grand Junction. Services are pending with Martin Mortuary.
Mr. Ybarra was a photographer. He is survived by two sons, Frederick Gemoya and Edward Gemoya, both of Grand Junction; one daughter, Robin Gemoya of Grand Junction; one brother, Jim Ybarra of Woodward, Oklahoma; one sister, Anita McCutchan of Pinedale, Wyoming; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 800-547- 6676.

John Anthony Ybarra passed away May 29, 2015, in Grand Junction, Colorado. He was 77. John was born in Woodward,
OK, March 14, 1938, to John and Maria Ybarra. He gradutaed from Woodward High School in 1956. John served in the U.S. Navy from 1956-60. He was an aviation photgrapher’s mate. John continued his interest with photography throughout his entire life. He attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1965, with a Bachelors Degree in Spainsh and Political Science. John was a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia, South America during 1965-67. He was employed as an administrator with the U.S. Department of Agriculture from 1968 to 1990. He operated his photography business from 1991-2003. John retired in 2003, and kept busy with his family, hobbies, and volunteer work. He was married to Maria C. Manzanares of Manassa, CO. They were divorced. John is survived by his step-children, Fred, Ed, and Robin Gemoya; six grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. He is also survived by one brother and one sister. Per his request, cremation has taken place and his ashes scattered. There will be no service.
