Isaac was born in Leadville,
CO on March 22, 1943, to
Jake and Ella. He passed
away, peacefully, at his home
with his family by his side
after a courageous 11 year
battle with cancer.
Isaac graduated from Grand
Junction High School, then
served four years with the
U.S. Army. He then studied
and trained as a pipefitter/welder at Plumbers and Fitters Local
145. He became talented and prolific at his chosen profession
and traveled throughout the U.S. and worked locally until his
retirement.
Isaac worked as a volunteer for Gray Gourmet, delivering
meals for three years. He also volunteered preparing taxes at
Vita for eight years up until three weeks before his death. He
enjoyed doing this and the people he worked with. He also
worked part time at Tiara Rado Golf Course for eight years.
His pleasures in life were golf, football, and his beloved
Yorkies, Obie, Sumi, and Spud.
Isaac is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth; son, Solomon;
granddaughters, Celeste and Kaley of Telluride, CO; daughter,
Debbie (Alex) and grandsons, Phillip and Richard, of Pagosa
Springs, CO; brothers, Joe, Floyd, Gene and Jake of Grand
Junction; sisters, Marcella Manis of Templeton, CA; Lorraine
Cyr of Clarksville, TN; Lupe Simons of Denver, CO, and
Dorothy Byrd of Bates, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his precious son,
Shannon; brother, Solomon and sister, Lydia.
A viewing is scheduled from 5 - 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary
following at Callahan-Edfast on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
Services will be at Clifton Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. on
Thursday, March 12th followed by a burial at the VA Cemetery
at 1:00 p.m. A dinner will follow the burial at Plumbers &
Fitters Local 145, 3168 Pipe Ct., in Grand Junction.

Isaac “Ike” Gallegos, 72, Grand Junction, died March 7, 2015,
at his residence.
A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at at the Callahan-Edfast
Mortuary Chapel, with a Rosary starting at 7 p.m. A funeral
service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Clifton Christian Church, with
interment at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western
Colorado, Grand Junction.
Mr. Gallegos was a welder.
He is survived by his wife Ruth; a son Solomon of Telluride; a
daughter Debbie Montoya of Pagosa Springs; four brothers, Joe,
Gene and Jake, and Floyd Harrell, all of Grand Junction; four sisters,
Marcella Manis of Templeton, California, Lorraine Cyr of
Clarksville, Tennessee, Dorothy Boyd of Arkansas, and Lupe Simmons
of Denver; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
