Thomas B.
Wesnidge, Jr.
November 6, 1953 - May 30, 2015
Thomas B. Wesnidge Jr..
passed away peacefully May
30, 2015, after a long battle
with heart and liver disease.
He was born in Littleton, CO
to Thomas Wesnidge Sr. and
Irma Wesnidge. Following his
service in the US Navy, Tom
met the love of his life,
Rosemary, in Leadville, CO. While it took the better part of a
whole summer and fall, while working in the mines to charm
her into going out with him, in the end his effervescent
personality won out and they were married July 26, 1980, in a
mountain ceremony near Leadville.
Tom and his "Rosebud" enjoyed living in the mountains where
you would often find them on the softball field or on the slopes.
The couple worked and traveled in Washington, Alaska and
California before moving to Fruita, CO to be closer to family as
they raised their daughters, Becky and Melissa.
Tom, known as "Pard" to his friends, worked in construction
his whole life. Returning to college in 1984, he graduated with
a degree in Civil Engineering Technologies and combined with
his love of architecture, he furthered his career in the building
industry. It even afforded him the opportunity to see the world,
as he worked overseas remodeling military bases in the
Marshall Islands and Indian Ocean during the latter part of his
career.
In his spare time, Tom enjoyed hunting and fishing and above
all riding his Harley. To him there was nothing better than the
open road. He loved to laugh and have fun, a jokester to the
very end. Even when the good days became fewer and farther
between, Tom would still find ways to make his family laugh.
He was a good husband, father, and most importantly, a good
man. Compassionate and loving, Pard will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Wesnidge of Fruita, CO;
his daughter, Rebecca Wesnidge of Denver, CO; daughter and
son-in-law, Melissa and Danny Carlson of Grand Junction, CO;
his sister, Linda Kemp (Mike) of Del Rio, TX. He was preceded
in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at Sacred Heart Church in
Fruita, CO at 11:00 a.m. Friday June 5th with celebration of life
reception following in the parish hall. All are welcome.
