Scott Robert Elliott
June 25, 1960 - May 28, 2015
Scott Robert Elliott, 54, of
De Beque Colorado, died on
Thursday, May 28, 2015 from
injuries sustained in a
motorcycle accident. He was
an avid motorcyclist. He took
his final ride along the Grand
Mesa Scenic Byway, doing
something he truly loved.
Scott was born on June 25,
1960, in Minneapolis, MN. As
a young man, Scott proudly
served his country in the US
Navy. After his discharge, he
moved to Colorado where he
spent the remainder of his life.
Scott operated heavy
equipment throughout the
valley and was a truck driver,
most recently with Wagner.
He was invested in the
community of De Beque,
where he was loved and
respected as a trustee. All
through his life, Scott was always there for people who had a
need, jumping in and helping however he could. His final wish
to continue to help others by being an organ donor was fulfilled.
In his death, Scott saved many lives.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Elliott. He is
survived by his father and step-mother, Robert and Mari Elliott;
his sisters, Jeanne Elliott, Lisa (Tim) Zeman and Amy (Mark)
Van Steenwyk; nephews, Will Zeman, Dakota Zeman and Jonas
Van Steenwyk; great-nephew, Coulter Zeman, and numerous
aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be forever missed by his
family, his riding buddies, his Enzo’s friends and his Wagner
family among many others.
Please join us for a celebration of Scott’s life at 11:00 a.m. on
June 27th at the De Beque High School Gym, with a luncheon
immediately following. We are celebrating the Scott that we all
loved, be prepared to smile, laugh and maybe shed a tear or two,
not because we are mourning but because we are remembering
the good times we shared with Scott and the outstanding man he
was! We invite and encourage you to share a story or memory
with us during that time. If you would like to go on a ride with
Scott, we invite you to bring your bike to the celebration. After
the luncheon he will be going on a celebratory ride with his
friends and we know he would want you to join him.
