Joe Rendon, 88, Grand Junction, died July 8, 2015, at his home.
Mr. Rendon was a truck driver and Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Emma; one son, Michael J. of Austin,
Texas; three daughters, Shanna Rendon of Grand Junction, Donna Chapel of Fort Collins, and Michele Doubt of Salt Lake City; and five grandchildren.

Joe I. Rendon
April 5, 1929 - July 8, 2015
Joe I. Rendon, born April 5, 1929, passed away on Wednesday, July 8, surrounded by his family.
Born in New Mexico, he spent his early years in Helper, Utah. Joe proudly served as Sergeant in Pusan, Kansai and Incheon during the Korean War. For many years Joe was a long distance truck driver with Rio Grande Motorway.
Sixty-three years ago, Joe married Erma Dimick and she
survives him. He was proud of their children, Shanna Rendon
of Grand Junction; Donna Rendon Chapel of Fort Collins;
Michele Rendon of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Michael Rendon
of Austin, Texas. According to Joe, some of his happiest
moments were spent with his grandchildren, Jessica Chapel
Dean, Lindsey Rendon, Joshua Chapel, Alexis Rendon and
Caitlin Rendon.
Joe loved animals and cared for numerous feral cats and
neighborhood dogs. His favorite cat, Asia, spent his last days
lying at his side.
Joe will be remembered for his quirky sense of humor and the
mischievous sparkle in his eyes.
Military services to be held at a later date.
