NIZZA J. VAN HORN.
A long-time resident of the Eagle Brush Creek area, died in Phoenix, Arizona, February 16, 1963, and was brought back to Eagle County for burial, February 20.
Nizza BURRIS was born October 1, 1888 in Colton, Ohio. As Mrs. John VAN HORN, she lived for many years on Brush Creek, where the Van Horns ranched and raised their children.
After they sold their ranch, they lived in Eagle for several years, then moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
During the years in this community, Mrs. VAN HORN took her place in many church, youth and club affairs.
The Reverend John MANN officiated at the church service held for Mrs. VAN HORN in the Eagle Methodist Church. Appropriate music was provided by soloist Jane LONG, and organist, Lola CHAMBERS.
Bearers were former Brush Creek neighbors: Charles and Allen EATON, Hans LARSEN, Fred and Dan RULE and Tom DORAN.
Mrs. VAN HORN is survived by her husband; a son, Donald of Utah; a daughter, Mrs. Lynn (Beth) RANDALL of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Mrs. Stella MIZE, Eagle; a brother, John BURRIS, Gypsum and several grandchildren.
The Miller Mortuary of Eagle was in charge of funeral arrangements.
