Beatrice Campagno, long time resident of Grand County and five year resident of Oak Creek passed away March 15, 2001 in Grand Junction. She was 84 years old.
#Bea was born Feb. 15, 1917 in the San Luis Valley. She married Joe Compagno Oct. 20, 1932 and has been a widow for the past 25 years. She lived in Tabernash until she moved to Oak Creek to be nearer to her daughters, Loretta Gersic and Jeanette Iacovetto.
#Bea was affiliated with St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Winter Park and St. Martin of Tours in Oak Creek. During the 1950s when the Civil Air Defense was an active entity, Bea received her gold wings for her contribution to the program. Bea was an avid Bronco fan, and enjoyed crocheting and sewing until her eyesight did not allow her to do such work. She especially enjoyed cooking for friends and relatives. After her move to Grand Junction, which was a medical necessity, she looked forward to the many cards and visits she received.
#She is survived by her daughters, Loretta Gersic and husband Fran of Oak Creek; Jeanette Iacovetto of Oak Creek; five grandchildren, Clint Iacovetto of Oak Creek; Troy Iacovetto and wife Rhonda of Tabernash; Chris Iacovetto and wife Karon of Wyoming; Cathy Sexton and husband Tim of Utah; Cindy MacIntosh and husband Shawn of New Mexico; thirteen great-grandchildren, Tyler Iacovetto; Angelina Iacovetto; Rebecca Iacovetto; Jesse Iacovetto; Max MacIntosh, and the Sextons, Jonathan, Robert, Timanee, Landon, Jenasee, Janson, Kenadee and Kassadee; two sisters Arlinda Coutrell of Grandby and Lucille Mondragon of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Armando Pacheco of Watkins and many other relative and an abundance of friends. A funeral Mass was held in Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Grandby. Monsignor George Schroeder of Holy Name Catholic Church presided. Father Francis Gerber assisted. Music was provided by Jo Ann Nayden.
#A summer inurnment is planned at the Fraser Cemetery in Fraser.
