Funeral services for Alan "Scott" COVALT, 30, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, at the Eagle Community United Methodist Church.
Mr. COVALT died Friday, April 15, from head injuries suffered when his car ran off a curve and rolled onto its top on Colorado Highway 131 nine miles south of Steamboat Springs.
He was born Dec. 4, 1957, in Eagle, and spent his boyhood years here. He went on to Sterling where he graduated from Northeastern Community College with a degree in business marketing. He later completed work toward his bachelor's degree at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Mr. COVALT was a truck driver for Mountain Mobile Mix, and had most recently resided in Steamboat Springs. He enjoyed softball, skiing, golf, basketball, football, hunting and other outdoor activities. He also enjoyed time with his nieces, nephews, god son, and other small children and dogs.
Surviving are his father, Norman Paul COVALT; his mother, Beverly Mae FESSLER of Eagle; stepfather, Harold FESSLER of Eagle; one brother, Gifford JUSTICE of Honolulu, Hawaii; three sisters, Becky MAX of Dayton, Ohio, Mona GALLENBECK of Baggs, Wyo., and Rhonda COVALT of Eagle; and grandparents, Mr. and MRS. C. J. DeGRAW of Eagle and Norma BRADY of Minturn.
The Rev. Melanie DOWNS officiated at Tuesday's funeral services. Burial followed at Sunset View Cemetery in Eagle. Farnum-Richardson Mortuary of Glenwood Springs was in charge of arrangements.
