Myra Garnett
August 24, 1926 - June 13, 2016

"...you shall be led forth with peace..." Isa. 55:12

Myra Garnett passed peacefully on June 13, 2016 at home with her son and daughter keeping watch.
Born August 24, 1926, she was the firstborn of Victor and Josephine Squires of Red Cliff, CO. A brother and sister followed. After graduating from RCHS in 1944, she was trained at Camp Hale army camp, becoming a dental assistant there. As the war came to a close she began working at the New Jersey Zinc Co. mine in Gilman, CO. At a company hosted dance, one dance with Bob Enzenroth led the couple to a wedding on May 27, 1948. The couple had a son in 1953 and daughter in 1956. They moved to Minturn, CO in 1958, where Myra met a lifelong soul-mate in her new neighbor, Celia Montoya. It was here that the Presbyterian Church became an integral part of Myra's life, and through her, her family's life. In 1964, Myra took a postal clerk job, as she and Bob knew his health was failing. Myra was widowed in 1966 and continued with great thankfulness to work, raising her family.
In 1980, she married Thomas Garnett, whom she later called "God's surprise". They had re-met at a RCHS reunion and one dance led to their wedding. Myra and Tom had 31 years of wonderful marriage, enjoying their kids and grandkids. They lived their mutual faith, every day, allowing God to help them through Tom's illness and passing in 2011. In the last 5 years Myra has enjoyed her son, daughter, step-kids and grand-kids, this time, and the many wonderful people God has caused to come our way. In these last 6 months of illness, Mom's feet continued to dance to her favorite polka music. We will deeply miss this dear Mom, but know her story has only begun and are grateful she will be with us through her kind, joyful spirit.
Myra is survived by her 2 siblings and their families: Wirt V. Squires of Santa Fe, NM and Margaret Plummer of Grand Jct., CO. She is also survived by her son Al Enzenroth of Fort Collins, CO and daughter Sallie Enzenroth of Boulder. And by her 5 step-children and their families: Walt Garnett (Paige), Rod Garnett (Sandy), Stan Garnett (Brenda), Doug Garnett (Judith), and Marcia Chapman (David). She is also survived by several dear cousins.
Visitation will be at Crist Mortuary at 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO on Tuesday June 28, 2016 from 3-7 P.M. A Memorial Service will be at First Presbyterian Church 1820 15th St. Boulder, CO on Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 10 A.M. with a reception following. Donations may be made in her name to First Presbyterian Church. To send condolences please go to www.cristmortuary.com. Arrangements under the direction of Crist Mortuary, Boulder, CO.
