Bradford Lewis Ramer, age
75, of Palisade, CO passed
away on April 15, 2016, with
his wife by his side.
Bradford was born in Nucla,
CO, on December 28, 1940,
to Joseph T. Ramer and
Marjorie A. Newell Ramer.
He had four siblings Jim,
Joanna, Rex, and Cheryl. His
father was a coal miner, so he
spent his childhood in mining towns in Wyoming, Utah and
Colorado. He wrestled at Nucla High School and graduated in
1959.
Shortly after graduation he joined the Navy where he served
six years. He married Louise Benefield and they had three
children, Sandra, Janet Kay, and Robin. In 1973, he married
Janice K. Dahle. They had two children, Sherry Beth and Katie.
In 1980 they moved to Palisade, CO when he took a job
working for Mesa State College as Physical Plant Foreman,
where he worked 23 years until his retirement. He and his wife,
Janice, lovingly, opened their home to more than 30 foster
children over ten years.
Bradford enjoyed gardening and spending time with family.
In 2003, he and his Jan began wintering in the retirement
community of Sun City, Arizona and loved it there.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim;
daughter, Janet Kay, and great-grandchild, Trevor. He leaves
behind his wife, Janice; daughters, Sandra Harris (Tom) and
Robin Morthland (Ken) of Denver; Sherry Beth Ramer (Steven)
and Katie Grove (Michael) of Grand Junction; siblings, Rex
Ramer of Lebanon, OR; Joanna Rash and Cheryl Condit of
Grand Junction; eight grandchildren, and 12 greatgrandchildren.
The Funeral will be held on Saturday, April 23, at the LDS
Chapel located at 3076 E ½ Road, Grand Junction, CO 81504.
Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., services will start at 11:00 a.m.,
with Graveside Services at the Nucla Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
He was a great husband, father and friend to many and will be
dearly missed.
