Willie Cook was born Feb 10, 1893 in Cedar County, Mo., the son of William Edwards and Mollie Cook. He moved with his family to AZ where he grew to manhood and served in World War I. He moved to Colorado in 1937, going to work in the Gilman mines until he lost a leg in an accident in 1942. Eight years later he and his wife, the former Cornelia hill of Red Cliff, whom he married in 1940, moved to Dotsero and made that their permanent home. Mr. Cook has been in very poor health for months in the Grand Junction VA Hospital since December. He passed away November 12 and was buried in Red Cliff November 16. Pallbearers were Fred Collett, Duke Schultz, Pete Nolan, Loren Martin, Jim Phillips, and Clarence Stephens. He is survived by his wife; a brother, Ed of Eagle and two nieces, Mrs. Merle Eichler of Eagle and Mrs Betty Ford of Fayetteville, NC.
