FATAL MINE ACCIDENT

Scott M. Dooley was instantly killed in the Black Iron Mine workings Wednesday night by a falling rock from the back, striking him on the head and shoulders, crushing him to the floor of the drift. It was one of those accidents that happens to the best and most careful of miners: a rock lets go at the most unexpected time and unlooked for.

Mr. Dooley has been in the employ of Empire Zinc company for some time. He was an efficient and faithful workman. Mr. Dooley's home is at McCoy, Colorado, where a married sister resides, also a sister living in Salida. Mrs. Julia hall, who arrived here after the accident. Mortician Meyer prepared the remains for shipment to Wolcott. Interment will be at McCoy or Coppertown.
