Longtime local Andrew “Andy” Jones died Sunday in Denver. He was 57.

He was born in Camden, N.J., on July 25, 1949. In 1971, after serving in the U.S. Army, he moved to Gypsum. He most recently lived in Leadville. Jones was lifelong hunter and fishermen, family members say, and loved Colorado and the friends he made in the mountains.

He is survived by his sons, Michael Jones of Gypsum and Daniel Jones of Phoenix; grandson Jason of Gypsum; and sister Carol Vignola of Gypsum.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m., Friday at the Gypsum Town Hall.
