John F. (Jack) Loughran, 88, died Jan. 7, 2009 in Homelake, Colorado. He was born Jan. 10, 1920 in Little Neck, NY. He served in the Untied States Navy during World War II as a naval aviator in the Pacific theater. He moved to Colorado in 1949, the year after Colorado Boulevard was finally paved. IN Denver, he worked for Toro and Zebo and then started his home building company. Viking Log Homes built log homes in many locations throughout Colorado. Loughran spent 21 years in the Denver area and 17 years in Eagle County where he served as an Eagle County Commissioner. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting. The family plans to hold a private memorial service in Tupper Lake, NY this summer.
