AGED PIONEER OF EAGLE COUNTY DIES IN BOULDER .

Axel Moore , one of the early settlers of Eagle count v . died at his home in Boulder . Colo ., on Saturday , March 29 , 1941 . Mr . Moore was past 80 years of age . The deceased came to Bells Camp and Gilman in the early days of mining on Battle Mountain , and worked in the mines there for a few years , and then moved to the valley , taking up a homestead on what is a part of the ranch now owned by S . II . Shannon near Edwards . He lived here for manv vears , expanding his holdings , until he owned a splendid ranch . About twenty-five years ago he sold the ranch to Albert TTahnewald , and retired , living in Eagle for a time and then moving to Boulder , where he has since lived . Mr . Moore is survived by his widow and a number of children . He was an uncle o f Mrs . Forrest W . Cave of Eagle . Mr . Moore was one of the early and hardy pioneers who braved the hardships of a new and unbroken land to help carve an empire in this mountain country that the following generation might live in comfort and luxury as a result of their la mors . Peace be to his soul—his kind are fast disappearing from the face of the earth .
