Patra "Ardyth" Nimon, 1923-2010, former Eagle resident
Eckert, Colorado resident, Ardyth Nimon, passed away on April 11, 2010 at Horizon’s Care Center. She was 86.

A private graveside service will be held at a later date in Eagle.

Patra Ardyth Allen was born on Aug. 9, 1923 in Blanca, Colorado, to Henry Harrison and Ethel Elizabeth (Harse) Allen. She spent her childhood in the San Luis Valley until the age of 15. The family moved to Glenwood Springs, where she finished high school. She furthered her education at Parks Business College in Denver.

On Jan. 31, 1947, Ardyth married James Edward Nimon in Denver, where they made their home until 1969. They then moved to Eagle until James passed away in 2004. She remained in Eagle until the following year when she moved to Grand Junction, living there for four years before moving to Eckert a year ago.

Mrs. Nimon was a member of the Methodist Church in Eagle. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, crocheting, knitting, needle point and square dancing. Her greatest love was spending time with her children and grandchildren

Those grateful to have shared in Ardyth’s life are a daughter, Patra “Patty” Wardlaw, of Paonia, Colorado; brothers Kenneth Allen, of Grand Junction, and Carrol Allen, of Farmington, New Mexico. She also is survived by grandchildren Raymond T. (Dawn) Wardlaw of Craig, Colorado, Denice M. (Matt) Riffey, of Queen Creek, Arizona, and Robert J. Wardlaw and Danelle Novotny, of Greeley, Colorado; and six great-grandchildren.

Ardyth was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Alan James Nimon; sister Edythe E. Cobb; and brothers J. Ivan Allen and Clair Allen.
