Dan Stuart Scott, 65, Grand Junction, died March 27, 2018, at the St. Mary’s Medical Center. Services will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday at Canyon View Vineyard Church. He was a special education teacher. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca; one son, Jesse of Grand Junction; one daughter, Natalie Compton of Grand Junction; one brother, Carlos Scott of Loveland; one sister, Sally Bergquist of Grand Junction; and three grandchildren. Memorial contributions to a charity of one’s choice.

Dan Scott January 14, 1953 - March 27, 2018
Dan Scott passed away March 27, 2018, surrounded by family following a brief illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Rebecca Scott; daughter, Natalie Compton (Ben Compton); son, Jesse Scott; granddaughter, Isabella Fromang, andgrandsons, Dawson Fromang and Austin Compton, all of Grand Junction. Dan was born January 14, 1953, in Junction City, Kansas to Sue Gross and Marion Scott. He attended high school in Aspen and considered this his hometown. Dan was an Eagle Scout and graduated from Mesa College where he met his wife, Rebecca. They married in 1973 and settled in Grand Junction to raise their family. Time spent with family and friends was Dan’s passion. He loved boating at Lake Powell, exploring its canyons and playing cards on the houseboat while listening to his favorite music and being near those he loved. Dan was a loving and loyal husband, an engaged and supportive father, and enthusiastic grandfather. Dan, a dedicated teacher and the #1 fan of so many who seemed left behind, was a friend to many and considered the sweetest guy. A celebration of Dan’slife will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Canyon View Vineyard Church.
