DEATH OF ISAAC J . SPRAfiUE

A Pioneer of Eagle County Passes Away at Colorado City . All tho early residents of Red Cliff will remember Isaac J . Sprague . Mr , Spragno was a miner and a man of exemplary habits . His many friends will to hear of his demise with sincere regret . Mr. Sprague has been absent from Red Cliff for several years , going from hero to Victor. The editor of The Blade has received tho following letter from a friend of Mr. Sprague in Massachusetts, according to which the latter died in Colorado City, this state, on September 29th, and the remains were buried at Marshfield, Massachusetts on October 7th : - , ¦ I write you a few lines to let you know of tho death of Isaac J . Sprague , who came on from Colorado a year or so ago to visit his relatives at Brant Rock , town of _JMarahfield . Ho had asthma and was in batl health when he came here . He did not improve _anj _, as tho sea air was too clamp and heavy for him and he gradually grew worse . He finally made up his mind to get back to Colorado , as he thought the change would do him

good . Ho started on September 2411 and arrived at Colorado . City the 27 th He went to ; i friends house and was go ing to stop there until the change of aii made liirn able to go to a higher altitude But he only lived onn day and riighl and died tho 25 th . His body _ivas taken in charge by the Buylo Undertaking company , 110 Colorado avenue , and was embalmed and sent back to Marshfield and was buried there October 7 th . I write these lines at his request . I lived next house to him and saw him nearly every day , and about three mouths ago ho asked mo to notify you if ho died suddenly or anything happened to him . The poor man suffered a great deal , but ho left with high hopes of getting well in Colorado . But he waited a little too long . It was a sad case . Wo : lid whut ive could for him while he was East . But his suffering is over now and tie is at rest .
