Bruce (Hawkin)
Ludlum
January 22, 1946 – July 19, 2020
Hawkin passed away in peace, without pain, and with the women he loved beside him.
Known in Steamboat for his boot repair and leather shop, he was also known for his love of country western dance. A beautiful dancer himself, he loved teaching others to dance as well. In his earlier years on the front range, he ran a dog kennel where he worked with dogs including the specialized art of police canine training. His artistic side prevailed when he opened a stain glass studio with his wife. He was a proud Air Force veteran and even prouder father of his beautiful daughter, Shara.
Hawkin had a strong passion for Native American culture, spending some time in Florida where he was accepted into the Cherokee tribe. He loved climbing and hiking in our mountains, riding horses and touring on his motorcycle. After retiring, life was especially good traveling with his partner, Judy, in their fifth wheel trailer to escape the long winters.
Hawkin will be remembered as a kind and fun loving man. He lived his life well.
