Born in Detroit, August 11, 1919, he married Violet Battani on July 29, 1942.

He was the father of Vail's Douglas M. Tisdale and Charles Tisdale Jr. of Cherry Hills. He was the father-in-law of Patricia C. Tisdale and the grandfather of Doug Jr., Sara, Maggie and Vicki.

Tisdale served in the U.S. Coast Guard, formerly the U..S. Merchant Marine, during World War II. Late in life, he was a resident of Heritage-Club Denver.

A memorial mass is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Church of the Risen Christ, 3060 S. Monaco Parkway in Denver. Internment will be at Logan National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Friday.
