Gordon L. Vetter, 88, of
Fruita, Colorado, passed away
on Sunday, January 17, 2021, at
his home, of natural causes.
He was born February 16,
1932, in Cripple Creek, CO, the
son of the late Lee and Grace
Vetter of Ft. Lupton, Colorado.
Gordon was a graduate of
Colorado State University with
a degree in business and a U.S.
Army veteran. His early education prepared him for a career in
pharmaceutical sales with the prestigious Smith, Klein & French
company. After a 30 year employment with Smith Klein, he earned
the position of National Sales Director eventually locating in
Philadelphia with his young family.
Upon retirement in 1985, Gordon, his wife, Linda, and daughter,
Carol moved back to their beloved home state of Colorado where
he enjoyed skiing, fishing, golf, and horses. Not one to stay content
merely enjoying hobbies, he obtained his real estate license and sat
on the Fruita City Council where he helped the residents of Fruita
plan and develop through a time of rapid expansion on the Western
Slope.
His beloved wife of 67 years, Linda, passed in February 2020.
Gordon is survived by his son, Steven Vetter and his wife, Robbie,
of Chalfont, Pennsylvania; daughter, Carol Garcia of Fruita;
granddaughters, Sara Silverman of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and Emily
Vetter of Fruita. Gordon has three great-grandchildren, Theo,
Audrey and Malcolm.
Funeral services will be held at Victory Life Church, Grand
Junction at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 29, 2021.
