Larry was the son of
Emmett Leon Alumbaugh
and Mary Frances (Allen)
in Carthage, MO. Larry’s
father was killed in the
war at age two. Later, he was adopted by Victor Jensen
in 1953, and moved to Grand Junction, CO. Larry
graduated from GJHS in 1960.
Larry joined the USAF and was a part of the 72D
Combat Defense Squad. He was a graduate of Medical
and Air Policeman courses. After being honorably
discharged Larry moved to Grand Junction and
attended Mesa Junior College where he met his first
wife, Marjorie Ann Colton. He would go on to have
a respectable career helping start and run a couple of
successful companies. Marjorie passed away with
cancer at 43. He later married Dianna Jensen in 2003.
Larry suffered from ALS and died at St. Mary’s
Hospital with all his loving family at his bedside. Larry
was strong in his faith, had a big heart, and seemed
as if he never met a stranger. He was considered the
neighborhood “network guy” who always knew of
someone who could help. He was an avid reader, loved
watching sports, enjoyed playing bump, and kept a
beautiful yard.
Larry is survived by his wife, Dianna; daughters,
Nicole (Dave) Garcia, and Stephanie (Ryan) Bowler,
of Grand Junction, CO; brother, Ed Harvey, MO; stepsons, Casey (Donna) Collier, Monument, CO, and Corey
(Lara) Collier, Carbondale, CO; step-daughter, Hilary
(Nicholas) Tompkins, Windsor, CO; 12 grandchildren,
and step-mother, Veda Jensen.
