Eagle Valley Enterprise - June 21, 1973

William D. BESSLER, 66, retired mining engineer and resident of Gypsum, died June 15 at the Booth Ranch on Gypsum Creek of an apparent heart attack. He had been a Gypsum resident for five years.
BESSLER was born March 12, 1907 at Lewiston, Idaho. He spent his childhood at Idaho and Oregon, and graduated from the University of Idaho at Moscow with a mining engineering degree. BESSLER previously lived in Georgetown, Colo.
The deceased was a member of the veterans of Foreign Wars, and served as a Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Pearl I. BESSLER of Port Angelus, Wash.; a son, Michael BESSLER, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; and two brothers, Thomas L. BESSLER, of Portland, Ore. and Albert BESSLER of Port Angelus, Wash.
Funeral services were held June 19 at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Gypsum. Rev. Don SIMONTON conducted the service.
