Blanche Dump holding the reins of a horse on which Ruby Dump is sitting. Victor Dump is ready to catch Ruby should she fall. The family is at their ranch at Pando, Colorado. Ranch buildings are visible in the background.
Victor Dump died in 1935 and the family stayed on the ranch for another year before moving to Red Cliff. Frank and Pauline Reynolds Byers took over the Pando ranch and lived there until the Army constructed Camp Hale on the site...

The warming house across from the ski tow on Whittaker Ranch, Bruce Creek. The cabin was used by Mary Ann Whittaker Carter and Joe Carter as a summer home in the 1980s before the ranch sold.

Ruedi, Colorado, showing plaster mill, coal kilns, depot, and section house. "The first white man to settle in Ruedi was John Ruedi, who showshoed up from Basalt in the spring of 1885. He homesteaded what is now known as the J revers R Ranch. Bill Smith came in 1887 and homesteaded the YS Ranch.
The steel for the Colorado Midland Railroad was laid through the valley in 1887. The railroad company wanted ground for a depot and section houses....

"Charley McCoy's Upper Place in 1930.The original log house was destroyed by fire in 1927 or 1928 and the frame house was built shortly afterwards. This picture shows some of Charley McCoy's top grade of cattle. "The Horn ranch house on Rock Creek, two and one half miles above McCoy, as it was in 1917. Homesteaders Alvin Hart and Rooks built the cabin with the fireplace, the rest was added on by the Horns. The two bedrooms upstairs and the ground floor was the living room, the fireplace room served as a bunkhouse for ranch hands. "When Renee and Charlotte Wolf bought the Ebert Ranch on Conger Mesa in 1973, this is how the house looked to them. It was built by Rudolph Ebert about 1912 or right after the homestead cabin was burned to the ground. 200) Schrupp Ranch House

"Built in 1915, this house on the Schrupp ranch replaced the homestead cabin of 1905 which was much too small for a large family. After Mrs. Schrupp's death in 1913, the older children began leaving home one at a time until Mr. Schrupp passed away in 1938. Henry Schrupp then operated the ranch until Charley and Josephine Ray bought it and lived here before selling the ranch to Raymond Horn, many years later. Since then, the house has remained vacant."...
