MacDonald Knight standing in the snow on the Red Cliff school grounds. He went to high school in Red Cliff and received his master's degree from Western State College. Mr. Knight was a Fulbright Scholar to France in 1953-54.
Eagle Street is in the background and what is now the Red Cliff Community Church [396 Eagle St.] is at right.

A cradle roll invitation sent to Mr. and Mrs. Edward A. (E.A.) Michael for their two children, Everett and [?]. The "cradle roll" was a listing of babies and young children kept by a church; in this case, most likely the Eagle Methodist Church. The invitation is a postcard with a 1 cent stamp signed by Mrs. H. Baer.

Methodist Church, Eagle, Colorado, built in 1900. An enlargement program was started in 1940 by Rev. Casselman. A fellowship hall and office were built on the ground level and Sunday School rooms were on the second level. A furnace was installed in the basement. Parsonage is barely visible in the left background. [Compare with 1982.001.088, view from 1902]
Between 1951 and 1954m the Sunday School rooms were completed.

"The McCoy Community Church project in 1934, with all volunteer labor. The work force was subject to change from day to day. In this group are: Joe Tuyls, Cliff Daniels, Ed Bulkley, George Shepard, Frank and Harry Groh, Earl Brooks (kneeling(, Burdette Bulkley, James Funk (the High School teacher), Ralph Kayser, Clinton Strait and Charles (Bud) Kier. "James P. Carrigan, who was appointed pastor of St. Stephen's in Glenwood Springs in 1910, began making monthly visits to celebrate Mass in Thomas Minturn's section house. With his encouragement, local Catholics formed St. Patrick's parish on September 13, 1913.
