Mary Frances "Fannie" Evans Collins holding grandson, Ralph Bayer. Fannie Evans was three years old when she spent several days in Ft. Arnett. Red Cliff's response to the Meeker Massacre was to gather citizens in the fort, anticipating a local threat, which never materialized.
