Formal portrait of Barclay Hockett. He was born July 19, 1813, at Wilmington, Ohio, and died at Gypsum, Colorado, on June 7, 1915. He was an early settler of Eagle County, arriving at Battle Mountain in 1882, and moving to Eagle a year later. He homesteaded near Gypsum.

Bill Heicher telling Jake Borah stories during the Gypsum Cemetery Tour July 16, 2011. The tour was sponsored by the Town of Gypsum in celebration of Gypsum's Centennial, held July 9-17, 2011. The Porchlight Players, a local drama group, portrayed interesting citizens of the town buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

The photo appears to be of World War II vintage.
Wyon E. Bonar came to Colorado in 1906 and was first employed on the Frank Doll ranch in Gypsum. He opened a barber shop in Red Cliff from 1911 to 1920, and then relocated to Caspter, Wyoming. He returned to Colorado and bought a pool hall and barber shop in Gypsum from Charles Doll in 1923. He had two children, Wyon and Betty Bonar Oliver, with Lenna Lupton Bonar.

Six men examining the rubble left after the Bonar Pool Hall explosion and fire. Monday, April 25, 1932, a few minutes before 4AM, the building exploded. All four walls were blown outward and the building was in flames. Mr. Bonar's business loss was approximately $2,100; he carried $1,800 in insurance. The building was insured for $1,200.
