"This photograph appeared on the inside cover of the 1928 Eagle High School yearbook [Lux Aquilae]. Although there was never a big population of bighorn sheep on Brush Creek, they were known to winter there. The animals could be found in the summer on New York Mountain, Fools Peak, at Nolan Lake and in the Metheney Park area. The sheep population declined in the mid-1950s due to poaching and disease." -- Kathy Heicher, Early Eagle p.121

An invitation to dinner for the "reunion of the D. C.-W. Club," held on September 18, 1888 at Elitch's in Denver. This "club" was a hunting party that came to Eagle County from August 18-September 3, 1888. Alfred Borah served as their chief guide, and writes about the hunting trip in his journal. Doctor H. A. Lemen, F. E. Edbrooke, J. H. Brown, C. S. Gilmore, and W. H. Lawrence were members of the hunting party. Their guests for the dinner party were...

It is possible that the man at far left is Jake Borah. Condon was visiting the Doll ranch and probably used Borah as a guide for the hunting trip.

Roy Ralph Marfitano (RRM) first purchased the scabbard to use on his horse in 1940. The horse wasn't around very long so Roy's dad, Ralph, then started using the scabbard to protect his 1927 Winchester Model 94-32 Special rifle (shown in photo) while traveling the tracks on his railroad "putt-putt" car.
The Model 94 rifle was a very popular big game rifle in those days (1920s-1980s)....
