She was born in Osage City, Kan., on August 27, 1900, and came to Eagle when two years of age, residing here or in Gypsum the greater part of her life.

"Along with the move of the county seat came an obligation to build a modern county courthouse. Designed by renowned architect J. Francis Pillsbury, the Eagle County Courthouse was constructed in 1932 at a cost of $60,000. The sheriff's office was on the basement floor along with living quarters for the jailer.
