Gaylord A. Clark in 1931, approximately 27 years of age. The photo was submitted with applications for teaching positions. Mr. Clark taught elementary school in Burns (Derby Mesa School) and Minturn, in addition to being a rancher and mine worker at various points in time.

Guy Truman Barnes in Missouri at the age of 16. Chaps and pistol were optional. Mr. Barnes and his family homesteaded on Castle and Eby Creek. He was also herdsman for Andrew Christiansen who raised Hereford cattle. In 1919, Guy Barnes filed for six-hundred forty acres of land under the Homestead Act. The land was approximately 5 miles from Castle Peak. He and his wife, Monica Heeren Barnes, lived in a cabin owned by Christiansen while bulding...

Hanscome's old home after the fire. Tango, the dog, is looking down the road. Alfred and Mary Jane Baker Young Hanscome married at Grand Lake in 1883, then coming to Eagle County, about one mile west of Wolcott. They worked a small ranch until Alfred's death in 1919. Helen Herres Doll in her wedding dress. She married Frank [Hiram Frank] Doll on June 29, 1920. Helen Doll had a teaching degree from the University of Denver and was a member of Pi Beta Phi Honorary Society at D.U. She and Frank had two sons, Frank Austin Doll and Morton Doll.
