A postcard with a photograph of Shoshone Falls Power Plant located in Glenwood Canyon near the Hanging Lake tunnels. The power plant is still in operation; the best view is from I-70 westbound. Alda wrote a message to her mother while visiting in Glenwood Springs on the back postmarked August 24, 1915: " Dear mother, got here about 1:30. We tried to get you from Eagle but the --- was out. Bridge over the Eagle River on Eagle Street, in Red Cliff. Taken on June 8, 1959, the spring runoff is quite hight and debris is collecting on the bridge pier. A dog appears to have found something of interest.

By June of 1946 when this picture was taken, the bridge's "age was beginning to show and some weak places had developed and there was talk of condemnation, it being unsafe for heavy loads. So it was no great surprise to anyone when truck driver Jim Jardy hauling a heavy bulldozer mounted on a low boy found one of those weak places and dropped through. Red Cliff High School students swimming in Homestake Creek, possibly at Mickey's Hole located about 1.5 miles up Homestake Creek from Red Cliff. "It is a place where the creek curves away from the hillside at a big granite boulder, forming a pool more or less 4 feet deep.
