Shared marker for Jacob, 1851--1932, and Mary Anna Ruder, 1854--1940, Intermountain Cemetery. Flowers are engraved at the uper corners of the marker. "Center of cemetery. The Ruders first came to the Gore Valley in 1893 and settled in a log cabin in what is now known as Intermountain just to the west of West Vail." -- JPR

Mount of the Holy Cross Overlook, also known as Julia's Deck, on the Shrine Pass Road [FSR 709], a maintained dirt road, connects Vail and Red Cliff. The overlook was built as handicapped access to the overlook by volunteers representing PAWS, an organization providing recreational facilities for handicapped people. The photo was taken in July 1994. Quinn and Buster Beck are getting a great view of the Mount of the Holy Cross in the Sawatch Range...

A view of the dining room in La Cave, a former French restaurant in Vail. La Cave was opened on New Year's Eve 1963, by Jim Slevin. It was a popular restaurant for dinnertime meals and was located in the basement of the Plaza Lodge. Slevin sold La Cave in 1968 to Peter Cremaris. From the verso, "French and Basque cuisine. Intimate atmosphere. Cocktails - Dinner - Dancing."
