"Yeoman Camp at Salt Creek" (part of the Brush Creek drainage). Multiple log buildings, corrals and fencing are seen. Several miles further up East Brush Creek Rd. is the old mining town of Fulford. This photo was taken prior to the CCC camp built in the 1930s at Yeoman Park. The site has been a favored camping and fishing place since the settlement of Eagle.

The Yeoman Park Ranger Station (Eagle Ranger District) on East Brush Creek, Colorado. Barn and implement shed are along drive before station. An automobile is parked by the central building.
A Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) camp was situated near the station. The foundations are visible today. The campground is convenient to the Holy Cross Wilderness, the old mining town of Fulford, and Fulford Cave.

A longer range photograph of the ranger station showing the forest to full scale in comparison to structures. The road and buildings were built as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps program during the Great Depression. Foundations of the buildings are still visible today. "Ironedge" now could refer to the scenic trails in White River...

From the verso: "California Zephyr wrecked in Glenwood Canyon. March 1968."
On March 29, 1968, a passenger train was passing through Glenwood Canyon near Grizzly Creek when it derailed. Two of the diesel locomotives, F9A 5774 and F9B 5773, were later retired and sold for scrap to Barter Machinery & Supply Company out of Denver in May of 1969. This photograph was possibly taken by Brent Pappas.
