"Harvesting a good crop of oats on the Arthur Horn ranch in 1916. Along with the assurance of an ample supply of irrigation water out of Rock Creek, this soil is very productive. In those days, after hay was cut and raked it was first put in shocks and when ready to be stacked it was loaded on slips or wagons with a fork after hay slings had been placed on the bed of the slip or wagon.
